Testing takes a few minutes. If the battery has failed, fitting and registering a new one is usually under an hour. Calling ahead means we can check we have your Honda’s group size on the shelf before you set off.
Car won’t start at all? Say so when you call — we offer complimentary pick-up and delivery within 10 miles — we collect your Honda, fit the battery, and bring it back. Loaner cars and shuttle service are available for longer jobs.
Call Us Now - 631-636-0042Schedule ServiceA healthy Honda battery rests around 12.6 volts with the engine off and everything shut down. At 12.4 it is roughly half charged. Below 12.0 the starter is usually the first thing to complain about it.

Resting voltage · V
12.6 V and up — healthy
around 12.4 V — half charged, worth testing
under 12.0 V — charge it or replace it
Describe what the car is doing and we’ll tell you what it usually means before you drive over.
A slow, laboured crank
Classic sign the battery is on its way out.
A click and nothing else
Usually not enough charge left to turn the starter.
Lights dim when you crank
Voltage dropping away under load.
Flat again after sitting a few days
Often a parasitic draw rather than the battery.
The battery warning light
Usually the charging system, not the battery.
Electrics behaving oddly
Low voltage can throw up odd faults everywhere.
Most batteries last three to five years around here — short winter trips and summer heat shorten that far more than mileage does.

Coming south on Route 112 from Port Jefferson village, the service drive is on your right just past Nesconset Highway. From Coram or Selden, head north on 112 and turn left at the dealership.
It depends on the group size and type your Honda takes. We test first, then quote the battery and fitting together before we start — check our service specials for current offers, and we meet all dealer competitor pricing.
Three to five years is typical on Long Island. Short trips in winter and sustained summer heat both shorten it, and a battery that has been run flat once rarely goes the distance afterwards.
On many newer Hondas, yes. The charging system tracks battery age and adjusts output, so a new battery has to be registered or it gets charged on the old battery’s profile and dies early. We handle that as part of the job.
A battery problem usually shows at start-up; an alternator problem usually shows while you are driving, with dimming lights or the battery warning light coming on at speed. We test both before replacing anything.
Testing takes minutes. Most replacements are done inside an hour, provided we have your group size on the shelf — calling ahead lets us check.
That is usually a parasitic draw — something staying awake after you lock the car. We measure the draw and trace the circuit rather than selling you a second battery.
Yes — complimentary within 10 miles. We collect your Honda, service it and bring it back, with loaner cars and shuttle service available for longer jobs.
Of course. Where you bought it makes no difference to what we can do for it.
Call the service department and tell us what the car is doing — we’ll test it, or come and collect it if it won’t start.
