What’s included in every tire job

Tread depth measured on all four
Correct load and speed rating for your Honda
Mounted and road-force balanced
New valve stems or TPMS service kits
TPMS sensors tested and relearned
Pressures set to the doorjamb placard
Torqued to Honda spec with a torque wrench
Road tested and logged to your VIN

Book it and the tires are waiting.

A rotation and pressure check takes about half an hour. A set of four, mounted, balanced and with TPMS relearned, is usually under two hours. Tires are worth booking ahead — it means your size is on the shelf when you arrive rather than ordered while you wait.

Rather not make the trip? We offer complimentary pick-up and delivery within 10 miles — we collect your Honda, fit the tires, and bring it back. Loaner cars and shuttle service are available for longer jobs.

How worn is too worn?

A new tire has about 10/32 of an inch of tread. New York requires replacement at 2/32, and the moulded wear bars sit level with the tread at that point. Wet grip starts falling away well before you get there.

Six things worth a phone call

Describe what you’re seeing or feeling and we’ll tell you what it usually means before you drive over.

The TPMS light stays on

Usually a low tire — but it can be a dead sensor battery.

The TPMS light flashes, then stays on

A flashing light first means a sensor fault, not pressure.

Vibration through the wheel at speed

Usually a balance issue or a thrown wheel weight.

Wearing faster on one edge

Normally an alignment problem rather than the tire.

Pulling to one side

Often alignment, uneven pressures, or a damaged tire.

Losing pressure every few weeks

Often a slow leak at the valve or the rim seal.

Rotating every 5,000 to 7,500 miles is the single cheapest thing you can do to make a set last.

Honda tire and TPMS questions we get asked on Long Island

How much do tires cost at the dealership?

It depends on the size and the brand you choose. We quote the tires, mounting, balancing and TPMS service as one number before we start — check our service specials for current offers, and we meet all dealer competitor pricing.

How often should I rotate my tires?

Every 5,000 to 7,500 miles, which lines up neatly with your oil change. It is the cheapest thing you can do to get a full life out of a set.

Do I have to replace all four tires at once?

Not always. On front-wheel-drive Hondas a pair is often fine if the others still have good tread, and new ones go on the rear. On all-wheel-drive models the tread has to stay closely matched, so four is usually the right answer.

What does the TPMS light actually mean?

Solid means at least one tire is 25% or more below its placard pressure. Flashing for about a minute at start-up and then staying solid means a sensor fault rather than a pressure problem.

How long does a set of tires take?

Usually under two hours for four, mounted, balanced and with TPMS relearned. A rotation on its own is about half an hour.

Do TPMS sensors need replacing too?

Eventually, yes. The sensors run on sealed batteries that last around seven to ten years, so on an older Honda it is often worth replacing them while the tire is already off the rim.

Do you pick up and deliver?

Yes — complimentary within 10 miles. We collect your Honda, service it and bring it back, with loaner cars and shuttle service available for longer jobs.

Can you service a Honda I bought elsewhere?

Of course. Where you bought it makes no difference to what we can do for it.

Not sure how much tread you have left?

Call the service department and we’ll check the tread and pressures while you wait — or come and collect the car.
